This follow-up consultation is available to families who have already completed a Home Education Starter Consultation and need additional, case-specific support with practical or regulatory matters.

We provide personalised support with:

Registration and Approval

  • Completing home education registration applications to maximise approval likelihood
  • Preparing supporting documents that accurately reflect your home education approach

If Your Application Is Declined

  • Guidance on submitting an appeal to the MEC
  • Assistance in drafting reasoned, rights-based correspondence

Mediation and Communication

  • Support in engaging with education officials or social workers
  • Clear, calm mediation aimed at resolving misunderstandings and avoiding conflict

Exemption in Terms of Section 4

  • Assistance in applying for exemption from compulsory school attendance where appropriate

Matric

  • What are the available options?
  • How do I know that my service provider is legitimate?

General Regulatory Support

  • Advice on any other home education compliance matters that may arise
